Indiana2016.org Visit the Indiana Bicentennial online. -Indiana’s 2016 Bicentennial celebration aims to honor our state’s 200 years of history, and to do so in a modern way to engages all 6.5 million Hoosiers and leaves a lasting legacy for future generations.
92-COUNTY TORCH RELAY: Join the Festivities: Celebrate “One” Indiana -The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay is designed to inspire and unify Hoosiers as one of the major commemorative events of the 2016 Bicentennial celebration. Hoosiers will also symbolically “pass the torch” connecting generations to IGNITE our future.
Tuesday, September 27, 2016: Delaware County TORCH RELAY Schedule:
7a-9a Free community pancake breakfast at Delaware County Fairgrounds in Heartland Hall. First come first served. Doors close at 9am.
7a – noon The Bicentennial Experience at Delaware County Fairgrounds. This is a mobile museum on the history of Indiana.
7a – noon The Freedom Bus at Delaware County Fairgrounds. A mobile museum of the history of race in Muncie and the civil rights movement.
9a – Gather at the stage in front of the Bicentennial Experience.

Lighting of Indiana Bicentennial Torch by IN Bicentennial State Commission
9a – Delaware County 4th graders will meet at the Fieldhouse for a field trip “Hoosier Pioneer.” The torch will pass thru the fieldhouse being carried by torchbearer Delyn Harty-Isom.

Beginning on September 15 The Indiana Bicentennial: Delaware County Facebook page will have 2 of our counties torchbearers nominations that were submitted.
